I’m ready to start a new artwork. Having traveled to the Ivory Coast has given me food for thought:
Where does beauty lie?
How does one transmit beauty?
And what does it say about one?
The Ivory Coast has made me reflect upon the fact that it doesn’t matter what others may think of the beauty you share. How they receive it, how they feel about it, and how it impacts them or not: it is up to the receiver. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Back in The Ivory Coast, the designs of the designer Jean Servais Somian have had a huge impact on me. The beauty that I perceive in his works motivates and encourages me to express myself on paper.
